Our Trailblazer

Katie Kruger

CEO & Visionary Leader

Katie grew up in America’s last great frontier and has taken an unusual path from the rough-neck oil fields of Kuparuk, Alaska to being a young policy-minded CEO for a $13B industry organization, to leading nearly $200M in revenue for a publicly traded Fortune company. Facing challenging family responsibilities well beyond a typical teenager, her decision to join the nearly exclusive male workforce in Alaska’s remote oil fields was based on her motivation to fund her education and define a career trek that allowed her to live differently.

Today, Katie continues to seek new frontiers and challenging terrain. She remains dedicated to the belief that people can come from anywhere and become anything. Katie has instructed and organized hundreds of hours of classroom and online education for executive professionals in technology, energy, real estate and finance. Currently, she is a highly-evaluated professor in the Finance Department at the University of Colorado and is a sought speaker on the topics of the economy, policy and what happens to our careers when we look within. As she journeys, she gives back 100 thirty minute meetings per year to anyone looking to climb. To date she has shared more than 1,200 meetings.
